Raised beds built and installed

The long weekend allowed me to finally get my raised beds framed in. It was a fun project. Next is the more tedious task of putting in the irrigation and later in the summer/fall rotatilling, putting down some top soil and grass seed.

The peas are doing fabulously this year. Green beans and tomatoes are ahead of last year by a bit. Potatoes are doing well. The okra and black eyed peas are proving why they are more of a southernly dish, although I have them where they’re getting the afternoon shade of the pease (poor planning…oops). The corn never came up or was stolen by birds, so it’s being replaced slowly with random other stuff. In general though the garden grows quite well and should continue to get better as each year we work more stuff into the soil to build it up!
